Biography
Anne has worked some 14 years in various LP positions investing in European buyout and venture capital funds. At the moment she is changing to the GP side as she will join MB Funds as Partner in the beginning of September 2019. The last 2.5 years she worked for eQ Asset Management being responsible for the UK buyout fund investments and eQ’s Private Credit program. Previously she worked at Finnish Industry Investment as a member of the management group and the head of fund investments team. She has also worked for European Investment Fund. She has been a member of the board of Finnish Venture Capital Association since 2012. Anne holds Master of Science (Economics and Business Administration) and Master of Laws degrees.

Antti Ilmanen, PhD

Biography

Antti manages AQR’s Portfolio Solutions Group, which advises institutional investors and sovereign wealth funds, and develops the firm’s broad investment ideas. Before AQR, Antti spent seven years as a senior portfolio manager at Brevan Howard, a macro hedge fund, and a decade in a variety of roles at Salomon Brothers/Citigroup. He began his career as a central bank portfolio manager in Finland. Antti earned M.Sc. degrees in economics and law from the University of Helsinki and a PhD in finance from the University of Chicago. Over the years, he has advised many institutional investors, including Norway’s Government Pension Fund Global and the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation. Antti has published extensively in finance and investment journals and has received a Graham and Dodd award, the Harry M. Markowitz special distinction award, and multiple Bernstein Fabozzi/Jacobs Levy awards for his articles. His book Expected Returns (Wiley, 2011) is a broad synthesis of the central issues in investing. Antti received the CFA Institute's 2017 Leadership in Global Investment Award.

Bo Knudsen

Biography 

Bo Knudsen has worked with international asset investment since 1989, including five years at Danske Bank. From 1998-2002, Bo Knudsen was a member of the global AIMR (now CFA Institute) IPC committee and from 2002-08, he was the chairman of The Danish Society of Financial Analysts (now The Danish Finance Society) and CFA Society Denmark. He holds a Master of Science in Economics and Business Administration supplemented with MBA studies from San Francisco State University. Bo has been employed at C WorldWide Asset Management since 1994, apart from 1998-2001, where he was Head of Equities at Nordea Investment Management.

 

With more than 30 years of experience in the industry, Bo Knudsen has a thorough knowledge of global structural growth themes and active portfolio management.

Connie Hedegaard

Biography

With two decades of experience in international and domestic executive policy making, Connie Hedegaard is today assuming several key positions in support of a low-carbon and green economy. Ms. Hedegaard is, among other positions, chair of the Board of KR Foundation, chair of OECD’s Round Table for Sustainable Development, chair of the Board for the green think tank, CONCITO, chair of the Board of Aarhus University, member of the Board of the European Climate Foundation, member of the Supervisory Board of Danfoss, member of the Supervisory Board of Nordex and member of the Sustainability Council of Volkswagen. Ms. Hedegaard was the European Commissioner for Climate Action from 2010 to 2014, during which she led the negotiations towards the adoption of the EU 2030 Climate and Energy Framework. As EU Commissioner, she was also responsible for the 2050 Roadmap for moving to a low carbon economy and represented the EU in the international climate negotiations.

Gary Baker, CFA

Biography

As managing director of Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), Gary Baker leads the EMEA team to deliver measurable value to CFA Institute stakeholders and constituents throughout the region. He is responsible for the strategic direction of the EMEA region and strengthening relationships with member societies, as well as institutions, universities, regulators, and institutional partners in the region. In his role, Baker aims to strengthen the voice of CFA
Institute on behalf of members to key stakeholders in the region. He is responsible for supporting CFA Institute policy development in EMEA, advancing the impact of advocacy efforts, and supporting EMEA member societies in delivering value to members and candidates. He also has a key focus on increasing charterholder commitment to continuing education. Additionally, he has management responsibility for research functions across CFA Institute, including the Financial Analysts Journal, the Future of Finance initiative, and the Research Foundation. Baker is based in London. Baker has been engaged in financial market investment research for the past 30 years with a highly successful track record in a wide range of sell-side strategic, analytic, and management roles. He previously worked at Merrill Lynch for 20 years in a number of global roles, including managing director and Chief European Equity Strategist. Most recently, he was Deputy Head of Research with Jefferies in London. During his career, Baker has been a leader in country, regional, and global roles across Europe, Asia, Australia, and the United States. He holds a master's degree in geography from Cambridge University and earned the CFA charter in 1997.

Henrik Wold Nilsen

Biography

Henrik is equity portfolio manager in Storebrand's team for indexing and quant strategies. A key contribution has been the integration of ESG aspects into equity strategies, in particular the construction of core holding portfolios positioned for climate change. The team manages around 20 bn EUR. Henrik has a PhD in High Energy Physics from Freiburg, Germany. Before coming to Storebrand in 2010, he worked as post doctor in Freiburg doing research for CERN, Geneva.

Knut Anton Mork

 

Adjunct Professor at NTNU Norwegian University of Science and Technology

 

Biography

Dr. Mork served as Handelsbanken's Chief Economist Norway of Handelsbanken until retirement in 2016. He now teaches economics and finance at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and the BI Norwegian Business School. He has served on two government commissions concerning the research strategy of the Norwegian Sovereign Wealth Fund and how to spend the proceeds of this fund. This set of topics is also the subject of his current research. In a previous academic career before joining the financial community, he was one of the pioneers in research on the global macroeconomic consequences of oil price shocks.

Lars Bo Bertram

Biography

Lars Bo Bertram, CEO of the BankInvest Group since January 2015. BankInvest is a Danish asset manager and provider of investment funds with a total AUM of more than DKK 92 bn. BankInvest delivers active asset management and administration for domestic and foreign clients. BankInvest is owned by 40 local and nationwide Danish Banks.

Lars Bo Bertram has been employed in the financial sector since 1985 and has for the past 20 years focused on asset management with primary responsibility for investment, pension, business and institutional clients as well as administration.

Most recently, as Managing Director at Nykredit Bank A/S and as head of Nykredit Asset Management, Lars Bo Bertram served as a member of the Executive Board, Nykredit Bank A/S, and as a member of Nykredit Group Management.

Lars Bo Bertram holds a degree from Copenhagen Business School and has completed Senior Executive Programme at London Business School as well as AMP 181 at Harvard Business School.

Lars Rohde

 

Chairman of the Board of Governors, Danmarks Nationalbank 

 

Biography

Lars Rohde took office as Governor by Royal Appointment and Chairman of the Board of Governors of Danmarks Nationalbank in 2013.

 

Lars Rohde has an MSc in Economics from Aarhus University. He has served as Chief Executive Officer of The Danish Labour Market Supplementary Pension Scheme, ATP, from 1998 to 2013. ATP is one of Europe's largest pension providers. The ATP Group is responsible for the management of assets of more than DKK 748 billion.

 

Lars Rohde was a member of the Executive Board of the mortgage bank Realkredit Danmark from 1992 to 1997 and Deputy Chief Executive Officer from 1997 to 1998. Among other things Lars Rohde has also been a board member of Copenhagen Stock Exchange and part-time lecturer at Copenhagen Business School.

 

The career in the financial sector has secured Lars Rohde an extensive experience in ensuring the economic well-being of citizens. In his capacity of Governor of Danmarks Nationalbank and Chairman of The Systemic Risk Council he monitors that Danmarks Nationalbank meets its three main objectives: stable prices, safe payments and a stable financial system.

Mariana Mazzucato

 

Professor in the Economics of Innovation and Public Value at University College London (UCL), where she is Founding Director of the UCL Institute for Innovation & Public Purpose (IIPP). IIPP is dedicated to rethinking the role of public policy in shaping both the rate of economic growth and its direction—and training the next generation of global leaders to build partnerships that can address mission-oriented societal goals.

 

Biography 

 

Mariana Mazzucato is winner of the 2014 New Statesman SPERI Prize in Political Economy, the 2015 Hans-Matthöfer-Preis, the 2018 Leontief Prize for Advancing the Frontiers of Economic Thought and the 2019 All European Academies Madame de Staël Prize for Cultural Values. She was named as one of the '3 most important thinkers about innovation' by the New Republic, and is on The Bloomberg 50 list of ‘Ones to Watch’ for 2019.

 

Her highly-acclaimed book The Entrepreneurial State: debunking public vs. private sector myths (2013) investigates the role of public organizations in playing the ‘investor of first resort’ role in the history of technological change. Her 2018 book The Value of Everything: making and taking in the global economy (2018) brings value theory back to the center of economics in order to reward value creation over value extraction. It was a 2018 Strategy & Business Book of the Year and was shortlisted for the 2018 Financial Times and McKinsey Business Book of the Year prize.

 

She advises policy makers around the world on innovation-led inclusive growth and is currently a member of the Scottish Government’s Council of Economic Advisors; the UN’s Committee for Development Policy (CDP), the Leadership Council of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN), SITRA’s Advisory Panel in Finland, and Norway’s Research Council. She is currently a Special Advisor for the EC Commissioner for Research, Science and Innovation, Carlos Moedas, and is author of the high impact EC report on Mission-Oriented Research & Innovation in the European Union.

Niklas Ekvall

Biography 

Niklas Ekvall is the CEO of AP4, a Swedish public pension fund. AP4 pioneered portfolio decarbonization in 2012 and co-founded of the Portfolio Decarbonization Coalition (PDC) in 2014. Mr. Ekvall is a board member of Vasakronan, Hans Dahlborg’s Foundation and Nordea Investment Management. Previous positions include head of treasury at Nordea Bank, head of asset management at Nordea, Carnegie and AP3 respectively.
